EDT’s patented core products represent a brilliant breakthrough in toothbrush design. While dental practitioners almost unanimously recommend the use of soft bristles, existing products are susceptible to bristle splaying and deformation. This seriously compromises their effectiveness and, more critically, using any toothbrush with deformed bristles can contribute to tooth abrasion and damage to the soft tissues of the gums. In contrast EDT's Curvex line (labeled Soft but typically using Extra Soft bristles), incorporates a convex head and tapered bristle array so that the mid-section bristle tips -- which are known to do the most cleaning -- have optimum contact with the surface of the tooth. At the same time, the curved shape more naturally fits the geometry of the mouth so that the contact of the bristle array with the teeth is maximized. The Curvex line also features a unique curved neck and angled handle design so that it is easy to access and thoroughly clean hard-to-reach areas.
The Curvex is now available in five new sparkling transluscent colors - The Curvex Crystal - and may be imprinted with your name. The Curvex Crystal is reserved for dental offices that require imprinted toothbrushes. Dental offices should contact their Patterson Dental Supply representative
In addition to its two lead products, EDT is developing a portfolio of innovative oral care solutions, several of which -- like the Curvex II -- are designed to be held either vertically or horizontally with the user's fingers, meeting the special needs of individuals with limited dexterity issues, such as infants and toddlers, the elderly and people with disabilities. EDT also offers the Curvex 1A, the first toothbrush specifically designed for immediate oral hygiene needs following all types of dental surgeries, including implants. It is also the first brush suitable for early infant oral hygiene intervention from birth on.
EDT has been awarded the American Dental Association (ADA) approval* for its Curvex toothbrush. Currently, there are no existing ADA criteria upon which to evaluate Curvex II.
* “The ADA Council of Scientific Affairs’ acceptance of Curvex is based on its findings that the product is effective for removing plaque and helping to prevent or reduce gingivitis, when used as directed.”
